Post Image and The Excerpt Reloaded with 2.5.1

I rely on both “Post Image” and “The Excerpt Reloaded” to display the truncated excerpt and pull in the first uploaded image on a post onto the category and home pages. I haven’t found anything that can do this except for that 2-plugin combo.

Well, I want to upgrade to 2.5.1 so I don’t get too far behind, but it turns out I can’t because “Post-Image” specifically is not compatible because of the new naming structure of the thumbnail images in WP. They are no longer named .thumbnail, but -150×150, or the like. So, it doesn’t work.
