• I wrote a post this afternoon that absolutely will not show up on my main page or in my recent posts list. The post works manually (http://www.mandikaye.com/2007/10/17/a-lesson-i-learned/) and is listed in my archives, but it’s hidden from the front page.

I’ve written other posts since that one and they work fine.

I had installed some new plugins today and thought that might be the problem – I deactivated all of them and it didn’t fix the problem. I checked the time stamp. I deleted the post (several times) and rewrote it with a new title. Nothing worked!

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Since I don’t see a place to mark this resolved…

I figured out the problem. There was code in my template that had specified all posts in a specific category remain hidden from the main page. Once I removed that, everything worked just fine.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I believe you can’t mark this as Resolved because the topic was posted in the “Your WordPress” forum.

I’ll move this to the How-to and Troubleshooting forum so you can mark it as resolved.
