# Post-hack posting issues

 * Our WordPress site was recently hacked a few weeks ago. At that time our host
   did a restore, but there are still some lingering problems.
 * We are unable to create new posts. If a post is saved we are taken back to the‘
   edit posts’ screen and the new post is not saved. All the plugins have been deactivated
   and the problem persists.
 * After a little research, the issue is somewhat related to issues with hacking
   this past spring in which WordPress would not save drafts or allow for new users
   to be created. There does not appear to be any malicious code in the header or
   index PHP files, as far as I can tell.
 * Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a quick (and hopefully painless)
   solution to this issue?

 * Well, have you simply tried deleting the core files and reuploading clean core
   files from the official wordpress latest release archive offered on wordpress.
   org homepage ?
 * Useful suggestions for this :
    – backup your template (/wp-content/themes/ _your_template_),–
   backup your wp-config.php – backup your database (wordpress.org is full with 
   help page about that). – You don’t need to backup the core files (everything 
   save wp-config and htaccess in the root, plus the wp-admin and wp-includes foldzers),
   they can be replaced at will. – in case one of your plugins is compromised, don’t
   backup the plugins, simply note the list of the names of your plugins and reinstall
   them afresh. If your plugins incorporate a “remove” function, use it first.
 * Hopefully, that will ensure you’re free of the hack now !
