Post Excerpt content Vs Post Page Content

I have been playing with this plugin all day and really like it, but I am either doing something wrong or misunderstand the way it is supposed to work.
The feed I am importing gives you the complete post which is what I would like to show up on the actual post page. On the site index however I am trying to get a quick summary that includes just the image and title.
Am I misunderstanding how this works, missing a setting somewhere or asking to much from it? 😉
