# Post excerpt

 * Thank you very much for a clean design and nice looking free theme.
 * I have only one small question which I hope you can help me with.

   you can see there is an excerpt to the left of the post text. It starts with “…
   Coffee is a brewed beverage…” then the category, tag and comments are listed 
   underneath.
 * I would like to ask how do you create the excerpt? I searched on your site and
   in this support forum.
 * Thank you in advance for any help and time that you can offer to this basic question.

 * I’m glad you’re enjoying Editor!
 * To get the excerpt like that, you simply need to add text to the [Excerpt box](http://cl.ly/Wpcm)
   in your post editor. If you can’t see this box, click the [Screen Options](http://cl.ly/Wpsr)
   button towards the top of your dashboard and make sure the Excerpt is checked.
