Custom Post Type UI version: 0.7.2

    Hi,

I’m really sorry if this isn’t an issue being caused by your plugin, I have recently taken over this clients website and it was built by someone else. They have used your plugin and so in my quest to narrow down the issue I thought I’d start at your support forum to see if you can help me shed some light on this problem.

My clients is a car dealer, and the previous developer used your plugin to create custom post types of ‘Cars’. Within Cars he has set up ‘Used Cars’. He has then set up a price break or 0-3k, 3k – 9k and so on to show a list of cars – 3 cars at a time. This all works fine, however, lets say the 2nd car in a page list of 3 gets sold and therefore removed, the page just shows the 2 cars remaining instead of shuffling back the 4th car from over the page break. ( I hope that makes sense – it’s hard to explain).

I found that to resolve the problem I have to go into the car listings and alter the published date to all the same date, then the page will lists 3 cars, break, 3 cars etc again.

Now I’m thinking it probably has nothing to do with your plugin this feels like a sorting issue, I’m not hot on PHP code so I’m a little stuck. I’m hoping that starting here you might be able to help me find my way through this. If it helps here is the clients URL:

I would really appreciate your thoughts, and look forward to any comments you might have.

    Thanks in advance

    Ian

Yeah, that’s definitely going to be more of a content display/usage issue over one related to the plugin, which just handles the registration of the post types and taxonomies.

That said, I have no way of telling how the theme is querying the post types in order to display them. I’m sure there will be some template files in the current theme that relate to that, but it’s hard to tell which, as there are many ways to display this type of thing as well.

Thanks for the reply. I didn’t think it was a plugin issue though.

I think we may have found a way around this by splitting the cars up by make and then listing them that way. It makes more sense from an SEO point of view doing this.

    Thanks again.
