Post creation notification

Hi,

I’m hoping someone can help me with some code to extend Edit Flow.

This is our intended work flow:
Contributer submits article -> section editor receives notification of post pending review (for their particular category) -> section editor sets status to “approved” or “online only” -> website editor receives notification when post has been approved or online only and either publishes immediately or schedules publishing

Nb: online only stipulates posts which go live on our website only, whereas “approved” is for the next print edition and therefore posts are scheduled once print has been circulated

So two bits of code: if a new post is created, user group X for category Y is notified. When any post is changed to approved or online only, user group Z gets a notification.

Also, on occasion, the section editor creates the post on behalf of the contributor. In this case, the user group that the section editor is associated with should receive a new post notification.

This is for a university publication, hence why we’re relying on limited knowledge and community support. Many thanks in advance!
