Post author is changing when editing posts

    I have a website where other authors can submit posts. Posts appear in the dashboard with their correct authors, but when i have to edit a guest post via post.php wordpress automatically sets the admin as new author and overwrites the original author.

    Is there any way to fix this?

    Go to the Post/Posts that are giving you trouble. Make edits if you need, but before clicking Save/Publish go to the top of the page, click on the dropdown arrow and tell WordPress to display the author field. A new dropdown will appear after the content box, check what it says – does it allow you to switch it back to the original author?

    It is running with woocommerce so there is no author field like on normal posts.
