    I need a bit of help please. I currently have a form that displays in the sidebar of each post, which sends email to the post authors. I’m using dynamic text to display the url of the post. This is working fine.

    I now need my form to dynamically add the post author’s display name (it must be hidden on front end of the form) and in the email received, the author display name must then appear.

    Since my form is in a sidebar, I can’t use contact form 7 standard mail tags, to display the post author in the form email.

    I’m not sure how to format the shortcode, nor the tags to retrieve /display the name in the email.

    Hi Jenny,

    You could write a custom shortcode to retrieve the author’s username and then add that as a hidden field. Inserting into the email itself is just like any other CF7 field
