Possible to view download in lightbox/overlay?

    I’ve been using your plugin for some time (and love it) but now need to be able to allow site visitors to view a downloadable asset in a lightbox overlay first, before deciding if they do in fact want to download it…..so click on the download link, open in overlay, and display a download link (down arrow type of thing) from there.

    Is that possible with this plugin? I have not found a way to do that yet so am exploring other download plugins, but thought it worth check with you first to see if I’m just missing some simple tweak to the settings…..

    Hello @trisham ,

    Currently that is not possible. I assume you are referring to PDFs of images of which you are trying to display a preview. Or maybe I am wrong? Could you also describe your usage scenario?

    Hi Razvan,

    Thank you for the very quick reply, yes you are correct, this is for PDFs….I use another plugin – Easy Fancy Box – to display images and PDFs in an overlay, but when I add PDFs to the Download Monitor to be able to track how many downloads, then it no longer opens in the overlay, it just downloads.

    I do understand if it’s not possible (yet?) but perhaps you would consider adding that as an optional feature?

    Kudos on a really great plugin, even without this particular feature it’s truly a great plugin!

    I’ve submitted a ticket ( https://github.com/WPChill/download-monitor/issues/1145 ) and we’ll discuss it internally if we’re going to add it or not, it’s not a very asked feature but we’ll consider it.

    Thanks Razvan, I will totally understand if a decision is made to not add the feature, but I do think many of your users would appreciate having it as an option. Cheers!
