Hello and thank you for this CDN-gift! I tested it with success using WP Super Cache and works like a charm.

Is it possible to use a different CNAME through DNS to change the shift8 random prefix to a more SEO friendly? eg, redirecct from a shift8 link to something like cdn.mysite.com?

I tried it, and although the link alone leads to shift8 cdn main webpage, the requests to static assets lead to 400 Bad request.

    Thank you for your time!

    Hello,

If SSL weren’t a requirement (which it is), you could simply make a DNS CNAME of whatever host and point it to the hostname of your unique CDN url.

But our endpoints have SSL configured with our own hostnames. We would need to modify our system to allow people who do this to upload their own SSL and have our systems also validate the SSL and warn users when SSLs expire, and many many more things.

This being a (primarily) free service, that is quite a bit of workload that we do not have the bandwidth for at this stage.

Thank you for your interest – if this changes and we offer it in the future, we will definitely let our users know!
