  • Are you trying the process with the wysiwyg editor on?

i’m new to this so i’m not sure what that is

i’m trying to upload an excel file that has multiple sheets on it. one sheet for every day of the week. i’ve tried saving as different types of files like mhtml or whatever. i’m trying to upload by write new page…

Access wp-admin/users, on your profile page, scroll to the bottom left and if there’s a check in the box, uncheck it. That disables the wysiwyg editor.

Now – what you’re trying to do there…. I don’t know that you can upload an excel file and display it on a page without making a graphic of it first. I thought from your first post you were simply trying to upload a file to your site to link to on a post….

i’m trying to make that file appear in a post, not just link to it.

Yes, I get that now. I don’t know how you can do that…. you’d have to maybe save it as html then plug the raw html code into the source of the post.

    is there a spreadsheet widget?

    is there a spreadsheet widget?

    Go to

They have an online spreadsheet program with a WordPress plugin. Hope this helps. Mark

Well, that’s great information, thanks! Don’t know if the original poster will ever see it, but at least the next person who’s looking for the same will find a solution!

Thanks for pointing this out. Let me just clarify, our WordPress plug-in and Viewer API are located at If you want to sign up for a free account to author and edit Microsoft documents, you can use ThinkFree Online at We have tools for word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation documents.

There is now a native WordPress spreadsheet plugin (widget). It is still pretty primitive and in development. It does not take excel files as input however.

You can read about it at
