    Hey there Optimole team,

I would really like to auto-generate images sizes based on my visitor’s screen size, however, I would not like to use lazyloading. When I enable lazyloading it ruins the design of my website as the images show up all blurry for a second before rendering.

Is this possible to only auto-generate image sizes to visitors screen size and not use lazyloading? If not, could you please point me in the right direction on how I may be able to do this?

    Thank you and greatly appreciated.

    Andrew

    Hi @ahillstead2,

Unfortunately this is not possible as those two are connected.

May I ask you to try to enable the Generic placeholder setting in the plugin settings -> Advanced -> Resize tab?

Also, make sure to have the latest version of v2.2.2

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi there,

Thank you for the quick reply!

That’s a shame… do you know of any other ways I could achieve an auto-resize depending on screen size without lazyload? As far as I know, no other image optimization plugins do that. Cloudflare business plan can do it too but that’s really expensive.

The resize tab is for manual resize. I would like my images auto resized responsively per device. Why is this not a more common feature on WP? Webflow also has this feature built in 🙁

    Thanks

    Hi,

Sorry for the confusion, the generic placeholder is in the lazyload tab, you can find it here http://snpy.in/qeNpWs

Regarding the resize, by default Optimole does the image resize based on the images defined in your WordPress instance.

However, the automatically scale based on the device screen is done together with the Lazyload feature.

Let me know how with goes.
