• Hello,

    Thanks for this plugin.
I have a large collection of image albums on server that are structured with folders/subfolders.

    Example:
    /fruits/
    /fruits/apples/
    /fruits/oranges/
    /fruits/oranges/fresh/
    etc…

Is it possible to keep this structure when importing at wp-content/uploads/?

    Hi,

    It is possible.

Media from FTP Settings -> Settings -> Date.
Uncheck of “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders”.
    Please read FAQ.

    Thanks for this.

Yes, I read the FAQ and just tested: it works fine but my only problem now is that this folder structure doesn’t show in Media Library! I mean all media are there but I can’t sort them by folders according to where they are stored.

Is there a way to display the folder structure in Media Library?

In my plugin “Organize Media Library“, you can see directly.
Alternatively, “Media from FTP” use in combination with the “Enhanced Media Library“. This plugin can add a category to the Media Library. I think that it can I synchronize the folder structure and categories.

    Just tested both.

“Organize Media Library” is not useful in my case because it doesn’t show folders in WP Media Library directly in order to make this column sortable and allow further organization.

In “Enhanced Media Library” I didn’t find any synchronization yet but will ask their support also.

FYI: in he example of structure above
    /fruits/
    /fruits/apples/
    /fruits/oranges/
    /fruits/oranges/fresh/

and if one has thousands of images to organize, this plugin does a great job for allowing the use of FTP and by keeping the existing folder structure intact.

The second step is to be able to select a given subfolder only (ie, /fruits/oranges/) in order to create an image gallery from there. So far, I’m stuck with this.

The final step will be to keep the navigation structure in galleries, so that you may jump from the /fruits/oranges/ page to /fruits/ directly, probably with breadcrumbs. Maybe this will be possible if categories are created from folders (second step above), with same structure.
