Possible to echo both excerpt and full bio in same box?

    WP Biographia has been working great for me, so, first off, thanks! (And thanks for the fix a couple weeks ago.)

    I’m not quite up to snuff to visually parse wp-biographia.php, so I was wondering if it was possible to echo both the excerpt and the full bio inside the bio box?

    For context, I’ve tweaked the user profile page so that the excerpt acts as the user’s job title, while the full version is the person’s bio. So…

    Me on a page with just the WP Biographia excerpt (job title):

    And me on a page with the full WP Biographia bio:

    Basically I’m trying to figure out how to insert the excerpt on the line above the full bio. That’ll keep my profs happy, when users can see “Director of the Science Writing Program” on top of “I’m so-and-so, author of these five great science books…”

    The quick answer to this is, I’m afraid, no. The current version of the plugin just isn’t designed or coded to do this, it’s designed to use either the full biography or the excerpt biography, not both simultaneously.

    Having said that, it’s a good idea and implementing this would make a nice and logical extension to the way in which the plugin works (almost all of the extra features the plugin has had since the initial version was released in August 2011 have come from requests via email or the WordPress forums).

    I think I’ll make this part of the next release; the amount of coding required to do this should be relatively minimal, though I’ll have to go back and read the code to make sure of course.

    That’d be super, Gary. It’s one of those things where I’m saying to myself “At some point wouldn’t it be nice if…” and not “Oh jeez, I need to consider an alternative.”
