Possible to create the third kind of format ?

    Hi !
    Can I create the third format other than POST & PAGE for developing a plugin or theme?
    I don’t mean different POST TYPEs(or POST FORMATs). I think that a POST TYPE is only a taxonomy for POST format. I want to create another format like BBPRESS POST which uses seperate database from wordpress POST or PAGE. But I want it to be more like wordpress POST for sharing some data & member info with WP.

    * POST –> unlimited POST TYPEs
    * PAGE
    * [ ? ]

    Or, is it possible to create a post type which isn’t displayed on the post(blog) page and has another distinct useful database key (different from the other general post types)?
