• Hello, and thanks for the great work and plugin!

We use the plugin with multiple Instructors/Editors who can create their own H5P content. In the settings we choose that they can only see their own H5P content.

Is it possible to add the the following:
    – As admin you can see all H5P content
    – Choose an Author while creating the H5P content
    – Edit or bulk edit the Author after creating.

    That would be super helpfull.

The plugin supports the native user role management of WordPress, so you can already define what role is allowed to see/edit other users’ H5P content. WordPress doesn’t ship with a user role manager however, so you’ll have to install a plugin for this job (e. g. “User Role Manager”, duh :-)). Admins should be able to see and edit other users’s content.

There’s currently no option to change the author of content. You’d have to do that by changing the user id in the content’s entry in the database table of H5P content (single and bulk).

    Best,
    Oliver

Thanks Oliver for your response and suggestions.
The solution with the database is a good solution, I hadn’t thought of that yet.

About the User Role Manager: We are using the plugin Admin Editor Pro which comes with User Role Management. But the Admin’s settings are overridden by the H5P plugin, so as an admin we don’t have the H5P content of others.

H5P has its own set of permissions (all containing “h5p” and initially sets all of them depending on the roles equivalent settings for posts if I recall correctly. You should be able to reset them as you please, however.

    That would be very nice.

However, I have set the permissions the same as with Posts and also tried the User Role Editor plugin. Both don’t work.

I’d like to be wrong in this situation, but it seems that permissions part of the plugin doesn’t work quite right.

For now, we will use a workaround, but perhaps you can investigate for a next release/ update of the plugin.

Thanks for your help and effort.

@webstudio25 Im not part of the H5P core team, but just a community member who uses that feature all the time without any trouble and who likes to share knowledge.

The settings of capabilities for posts will only be cloned once when you install the plugin, changing them afterwards has no effect on the H5P capabilities.

You should e.g. find the capabilities view_others_h5p_contents and edit_others_h5p_contents that control whether a role is allowed to view/edit the H5P contents of other users.

Ah, even more thanks for your time and effort 🙂

Yes, all of the capabilities are set correctly. I checked, checked and double checked.

@webstudio25 Just to capture this correctly for whoever might investigate this: someone with the necessary capability (view_others_h5p_contents) cannot see other users’ H5P contents on /wp-admin/admin.php?page=h5p and he/she does not see the checkbox labelled with “Show my content only” to toggle what’s displayed and there are no other filters set. Might be relevant: single-site or multi-site?

Correct, admin/ someone with the necessary capability (view_others_h5p_contents) cannot see other users’ H5P contents on /wp-admin/admin.php?page=h5p and he/she does not see the checkbox labelled with “Show my content only” to toggle what’s displayed and there are no other filters set.

    We use single-site.
