Support » Fixing WordPress » Possible to avoid broken links when changing domain name/site url

  • I’m wondering if someone can answer this question for me. I’m planning on changing my primary domain name and url and keeping the old name as a ‘parked domain’ (that’s the term according to my host: inmotion). What I’m wondering is, with all of my links out there (i.e. photos pinned on Pinterest or other websites that direct people to my site) will they be broken? Or does the ‘parked domain’ help preserve those links?

I’m trying to avoid running two websites but can’t afford to lose the traffic I get from links that are already out there…

Thank you so much to anyone who can help this tech-challenged person.

Hve you asked your hosting provider?

yes, she told me to post on this forum because they don’t provide 3rd party support
