Support » Plugin: LH Archived Post Status » Possible to archive directly from draft?

    Hey, another thing: Would it possible to go directly to Archive status when creating a new post? Or does WordPress not allow this?

    Now I have to Publish, then change to Archived and save again. I’m adding a lot of CPTs to archive and it becomes cumbersome.

    Thanks!

    Found out:

    Add add_action('admin_footer-post-new.php', array($this,"append_post_status_list"));

    Change line 578 to } else {

    Howdy good pick up but I’m not going to change this in the next release, as to me it does not make sense in terms of usual workflow to go from draft to publish.

    However it should not take you long, this plugin supports bulk actions so you could transfer large numbers of your cpts to publish (via bulk actions) and then likewise do the same cpts from publish to archive via bulk actions.

    to @tobivreal:

    You mean lh-archived-post-status.php file here, right? Looks like this your ‘hack’ is for one of previous plugin versions. May be you know how to do that for ver. 2.15? Lack of this possibility (Draft->Archived) is inconvenient for me as well, with all respect to plugin author policy: at online store have to turn a bunch of outdated products from Draft to Archived, avoiding publishing them again even for a short time.

    UPD: Hmm, looks like there is a way of archiving post from draft directly without publishing and any code hacks. In Draft mode just set ‘Archived:’ date to any past date and press Publish. Instead of publishing post will become archived. Pretty unexplainable, but it works.
