    Hi there,

I’ve just started evaluating your plugin for a client, and noticed something that I thought worth mentioning. So far your scan of the site did a reasonable job of detecing images that weren’t in use…. though there’s one area that I think got missed. Widget areas.

My client had a site built by another dev, and they put a HEAP of things in text widgets in custom widget areas – including images. These seemed to not get picked up during the scan.

It’s not a huge issue at all – and I’m on top of it – but as a fellow plugin dev I thought you might like to have a peek and check you are scanning these areas. Happy to talk further 1:1 to assist in any way.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

It’s working with widgets, I am resolving the shortcodes, and analyzing the URLs, so it should actually work πŸ™‚ What kind of widgets are you using?

If I provide you a fresh install, do you think you could replicate the issue? With the minimum amount of plugins installed? That would be awesome.

Thanks for the fast response! I’ve tracked it down, and that makes SO much more sense.

The widget areas were using menu widgets, and the menus were using a plugin ‘Menu Icons’ – and this is where the images were referenced.

Menu Icons is more commonly used to let you include font icon libraries like Font Awesome in your menus, but in this case it was custom PNGs referenced from the Media Library for each menu item.

I added this to my features list, don’t hesitate to “vote” for it: https://trello.com/b/8U9SdiMy/meow-apps-features. It’s actually the first time I hear about it πŸ™‚
