• When my blog posts are sent to FB is it possible not to use a caption/summary/message of what the post is about?

I had the box ‘Use excerpt as message’ checked but left the excerpt box in the post’s page blank and it still pulled the first paragraph or so from my post as the summary of what the link was about on FB. Unchecked it and no change.

    Thanks,
    Tara

  • Facebook requires at least some text.

In any case turn ‘Use excerpt as message‘ off.

You can do a few things. First of all you could use the option ‘Text trailer‘. Read more about this option in the User Guide under ‘Link appearance‘. Another option it to use the ‘Custom text‘ in the Add Link to Facebook post meta box. You could enter for example ‘Read all on my blog‘. This will be the only text that will appear if you go for this option.
