    Hi all,

I’m not super knowledgeable about websites so this problem may not be caused by adsense manager, but I can’t think of where else the problem originates.

Here is the situation. I have a site where I’ve used adsense manager to display 3 different ads. These are all custom ads… no google adsense. If I go to my website (privately hosted) about 1 in 3 times there is an ad that is not mine on it. (I just hit refresh on my browser to see my site multiple times) Obviously this ad takes the visitor to another site if they click on it. Here is one site where the visitor is taken:

    http://www.fon.com/en/landing/joinfon

The link from the bogus ad itself looks like this:
    http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-2619547-10498744

I’m at a loss here. I’d prefer not to believe this is being done by Adsense Manager, but am at a loss as to how else it could be happening.

Please advise. BTW, I have tried emailing the author of this plugin, but have not heard anything. To give him the benefit of the doubt, this is a free plugin and it wouldn’t be surprising if he didn’t respond to every email.

  • This isn’t just the ‘Be Nice’ feature at work?

The be nice feature – due to G. TOS – was supposed to be removed from the latest versions of the plugin.

On the other hand I am not sure the plugin is able to handle non-G. ads, too. (Although I might be wrong)

    Hi,

Ok, I looked at the “be nice” feature and played with it a bit (and read more about it). It looks like this is a built in feature that comes with the plugin and one that the author is very up front about.

I don’t mind giving a percent of my adspace, but it did seem to be showing up quite often. I’ll play with it a bit more and see how it works out.

To the author, I apologize for the mix up. If the moderator would like to remove this thread that is fine with me. I feel comfortable with the plugin as it is.
