Possible for Product Featured Image to change? (5 posts)

I've got several thumbnails of this product underneath the featured image and they pop up as a lightbox, but I'd REALLY like it if it just changed the featured image to whatever thumbnail you click.

    Here's mine: http://www.digitalblueberries.com/shopping/product/merrell-trail-glove-2/

    here's what I'd like: http://www.amazon.com/Merrell-Trail-Glove-Minimal-Running/dp/B00B98SGBC/ref=sr_1_1?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1375816901&sr=1-1&keywords=trail+glove+2

Yes it's amazon, but certainly this isn't impossible? Thanks

I don't mind double postings, fellow canuck.

    It's not impossible.

The swatches and variations plugin will do this for you. See WooThemes Extensions. It's a good plugin and it works well. I use it for swatches but I've tested it with photos too. Click on the thumbnail (or even a swatch) and a related photo will show in the featured image.

Thank you kind sir. That is precisely what I was wanting.

But golly, 99 buckaroos. A bit much for right now I think.

    I'll dig deeper.

I understand that approach. But you definitely could save yourself a lot of time and energy by using someone else's solutions. That would allow you to focus on whatever your main priority is. It also helps out those developers that support WooCommerce. If everything was free, we wouldn't have support or programs to be supported (WordPress excepted).

I always have to remind myself that I could spend countless hours trying to find a workaround, in the long run I cost myself more than if I purchased a plugin.

That's just my humble opinion. I've spent those countless hours many times over and over and over ....

BTW, I have no monetary or other interest in the plugin, just a satisfied user!

Oh you're 100% correct. Those developers work their butts off. I'm just starting off as a freelancer and kinda broke at the moment. But working on about 10 website portfolio pieces, some for actual businesses, and that feature is so cool and would be a great feature to show.

I've already done a little research, and although I probably won't bite the bullet just yet, I probably will when my next gig comes through.

Sometimes I do find work arounds, but this one I think was too good to be true for free, and understandably so. I've definitely paid for a lot of themes and extensions that have been well worth it, but can't afford everything at the moment. Hope to give back for the freebies when I can and more in the future.
