    After upgrading from version 3.1.5 to 3.1.6.1 the layout of our login layout has changed drastically. The relative positions of the text “Remember Me” and the adjacent checkbox has been negatively upset.

    We have compared the performance of versions 3.1.5 and 3.1.6.1 and discovered that the change in the relative positions of the text and the adjacent checkbox has been caused by coding changes in the folder wp-members/inc/ – it seems that 2 or more files have been changed causing the styling upset.

    If we replace this folder wp-members/inc/ with that from version 3.1.5 the problem disappears.

    We have tried to use css styling to adjust for this change without any success, and therefore depend on your support to resolve this issue.

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    The change you are talking about is the addition of the HTML label tag to the “remember me” text in the login form. This change was noted in the changelog for 3.1.6.

    Whether it actually causes a change in layout depends entirely upon the styles applied (and whether the stylesheet being used for the plugin is one of the packaged stylesheets or a custom stylesheet).

    This was brought to my attention a couple of days ago and I have been addressing some updates in the plugin’s packaged stylesheets where this is an issue. These will be released in an update later today.

    If you are using a custom stylesheet, you’ll need to make any necessary adjustments in that file.

    It’s generally only an issue in stylesheets that float the label tag and don’t apply that property to specific labels, so the float property is also applied to the “remember me” label. The other noted issue is if labels are defined as block level elements (display:block;).

    In the plugin’s packaged stylesheets, these and any other property issues will be addressed in tonight’s release. For all custom stylesheets, the primary definitions that will address the two properties I mentioned above can be handled with the following:

    #wpmem_login label[for="rememberme"] {
    	display: initial;
    	float: none;
    }

    This will set the “display” setting to whatever the initial setting was before the “block” property was applied, and will set “float” to none (so that it is not floated).

    Depending on other inherited properties for the label tag, you may need/want to also define properties for font, color, background, border, etc. But that’s entirely dependent upon what properties are applied/inherited in your specific situation.

    After upgrading to version 3.1.6.2 and inserting the following code into style.css in the child theme:

    #wpmem_login label[for="rememberme"] {
    	display: initial;
    	float: none;
    }

    the “remember me” text slotted immediately into the correct position.

    Problem solved! Thanks for your great support.
