Is there a way to change the links in the portfolio section on the front page to point to a regular page instead of a portfolio post? I might be able to do it with a redirect plugin but I thought I would ask first.

  • It would help us help you if you posted a link to your website. Or gave really specific details of what is happening.

The site is in under construction and in maintenance mode at the moment by the request of the client, so no link yet. However the demo for the theme should illustrate my point.

On the front page there is a section called Portfolio. Clicking on the links in that section takes you to a generated post with extra info I don’t need on the right. I just wanted to see if someone familiar with the theme knew of a quick way to change these links to point to a specified page instead. I can accomplish it with some coding or even quicker by just redirecting the posts to the pages I want but I thought I would ask to see if anyone else had an idea or if I’m missing something in the documentation.

You will be able to change the portfolio menu entries in the menu editor.
Login to your WordPress administration, then Dashboard > Appearance > Menus.
You need to select the menu used for the top navigation. It will show a list of the top row headings, and the pull down lists indented between them, just replace the indented items under Portfolio with PAGE links to your selected pages.

Unfortunately that section is not an assignable menu location.

    Hi saiyajinss!
    Try this,
Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options > Portfolio Option
Then under the corresponding portfolio piece look for “Portfolio One Link” and input the URL of the page you want it to link to.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply Patrick but no option there either. I added a redirect plugin that can redirect via shortcode and it works well enough for now just a glimpse of the page before the redirect, not really noticeable to most. Oddly other redirect plugins that normally give you an option to redirect at the bottom of the page/post do not show up in these special class of post. But I’m going to keep looking into options

    Hello,

Put the Page link in to the space provide so this will redirect the link to that page.

    Thanks
