If you assign your portfolio to be your home page, then the home page template will automatically override whatever you’ve assigned.
The premium theme has some options that would allow you to pull your portfolio posts to your home page, but I don’t think you can do this on the free version without creating a child theme.
front-page.php is always the template used for the home page. It’s there that you have the options from your theme options > home slider, and theme options > home layout.

Now, i have a Carousel.
So, in free theme is not possible to have a Grid as homepage?

It’s the last change i want to finish the configurations of the site, and start charging the final site (images, post, etc).

With the free theme you would have to use a child theme and edit eh front-page.php file to have a portfolio grid on the front page. There isn’t a built in option for this unfortunately.
