port WP posts & pages to a completely new install

    I’m getting one error after another with my WP which I installed on Friday. I would like to delete the whole thing and start over with the new knowledge I have about what not to do with it. However, I do not want to lose my posts and pages. How do I port those from one WP install to another? I DO NOT have access to the WP admin area; all I get is an error message thanks to all my mishaps with the thing. I’m assuming the posts and pages are in the database and not in the files in public_html, correct? So how do I get them out of the database and re-install them after I delete the database? I have no technical knowledge so anything that does not involve actually going into the DB and editing it is preferable.

    Hopefully you have access to phpmyadmin, and then you can just do a backup and restore of the database.

    But actually if you are going to keep everything in the same place, you could probably just reupload the WP files and run an upgrade and it might fix whatever damage you did?

    I do have a backup of the database, but I don’t know how to do a restore. How do I do that? I’m using Apache 1.3.33.

    I’ve tried doing an upgrade twice now. Still I get error messages. I completely delete what’s on there and then re-upload it (plus the original wp-config file), and the same error. So I think my best bet is just to delete it and start over.
