port scans cause server to block my IP

    I am totally locked out from my WordPress site – cannot view public site in any browser, cannot get to wp-admin login, cannot access files via FTP. My web hosting provider says my IP address is “port scanning the server”, resulting first in temporary blocks, now a permanent block. He has “unblocked” my IP address, but nothing has changed. Thought it might be malware on my Mac (Mountain Lion), but ran both ClamXav and VirusBarrier Express and found no viruses.
    Is there anything in WordPress that can cause this to happen?
