# port forwarding

 * i have set up a port forwarding role from my router to my web directory of my
   synology nas.
    the entry port is dyndns:57433 then redirects to localadress:80.
   this works fine.
 * but the problem is the wordpress index is located in the subdirectory /wordpress/.
 * locally it works fine by redirecting to /wordpress/, but from the internet it
   looses it access, i tried everyting like:
 * dyndns:57433/wordpress
    or dyndns/wordpress:57433
 * noting works, any idea?

 * There are a few items in the first section that could be of use to: setting the
   URLs in your settings page, copying (not moving!) index.php and .htaccess from
   the /wordpress/ directory to your root directory, and setting pretty permalinks.
   However, I’ve never tried this with port forwarding, so it is hard for me to 
   say for sure.
 * Give it a try and let me know if you get it working.

 * First of all, please try to look at [http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL](http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL)
   
   Probably you’ll find something useful for your settings there.
 * Or, probably you have problems on your firewall or router which has a setting
   which blocks loopback connections.
