Support » Plugin: Popups for Divi » Popup content gets blurry on chrome

  • Hi!

The content inside the popup gets blurry with desktop chrome. Is there a way to disable the blur effect that seems to be causing this?

  • Hello @tatu89,

I am sorry for a delayed response. I think you are looking to have the background not blurry when Popups opens. Unfortunately, non-blurry background is something that’s not fully working yet when a Popup is triggered. However, we’ve added that to the feature roadmap for the future.

Feel free to ping me in Live Chat, I’m usually available between 2 pm – 6 pm UTC.

    Regards,
    Syed

    Hi @ausyed

No you didn’t understand me correctly. The content inside the popup is slightly blurry at times when using desktop chrome as browser. I was actually able to remove the blur from the background with bit of CSS but it didn’t have any effect on the blurry text inside the popup.

I ended up using another solution instead of your plugin this time.

    Hello @tatu89,

I am really sorry for all the inconvenience caused. Allow me to escalate the issue to our Tech Lead – Philipp.

    Hi @tatu89

thanks for letting us know. We are aware, that Chrome on Windows sometimes blurs the Popup contents. We are still trying to re-create that issue so we can test some solutions.

Your input might help us with this. Can you tell me which Windows version you use, and which version of Chrome you have?

As the issue might be related to other CSS on the page, it would be an extra help if you could point us to a demo page where I can see and test the Popup on our machines.

Also, I’m not sure if it’s really a CSS issue or a browser setting – as mentioned, I tried to re-create the problem a few times already but could not see a difference between the Popup in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. They did all look good on my end.

Thanks for your feedback and sorry for the inconvenience with our plugin!

    Philipp 🙂

    Hi!

    Windows 10 Pro, version 1903
    Google Chrome Version 84.0.4147.105 64-bit

Plugin used in the popup: Salon booking latest version
    Popups for divi: latest version
    Theme used: latest divi version

I don’t have example to show you anymore as it was on my clients website and i ended up using another way there. Firefox and edge worked nicely

    Hi @tatu89

thanks for your response. We’ve tested some Popups in Chrome and I could actually reproduce the blurry-text issue on a Windows 10 machine. The problem is related to the positioning logic of Chrome and I could not find a quick-fix for that.

However, I’ve added that to our review list and will have a closer look at some possible solutions for this problem. From my current understanding, we need to calculate the position via JavaScript instead of CSS so we can prevent that issue.

Here are the technical details I found so far:

Chrome creates blurry text when an element is positioned with transform: translate() or translated3d() and a percentage position is used (like 50%). There’s no problem when the position uses a static pixel (like 320px). There’s also no problem when we position the element using left/top instead of transform.

We’ll use those details to implement a solution that works across all browsers, but that might take some time.

Please feel free to ask about the status later, but I cannot give you an ETA on a solution right now.

Thanks again for reporting that issue 🙂 Philipp

Any news on this? The blurriness in Chrome is really bad. Wonderful plugin otherwise.

I have the same issue, glad of any update on when this might be fixed… it looks really bad. This affects the new Edge browser too (Any Chromium based browser) Love the plugin, just this glitch needs fixing.
