    Hey,

I’d love to use Postie on Bluehost, to connect to my Gmail account.
The connection I’m using is the same given in http://postieplugin.com/postie-gmail/

However, there’s a timeout error in the connection. I checked with the Bluehost support that port 995 is open for outbound connections and the configuration seems to work on other webhosts (e.g. strato.de).

    Here’s a debug log:

Checking for mail manually with debug output

  • foack, Bluehost only has port 995 open for incoming connections by default. To get that port open for outgoing connections you would need to get a dedicated IP and request that port 995 be opened for outgoing connections.

    Thanks voldemortensen!

I already had a chat with them about opening 995 constantly for outbound connections, but since the WP is on shared hosting, getting a dedicated IP won’t work.

So I’ll have to look for a different version and use an email account hosted at Bluehost.

    Thanks!
