Poorly Designed and Full of Bugs
-
Some co-workers and I were charged with the task of finding a good WordPress shopping cart plugin to implement on some existing sites. After some research we decided to go with WP EasyCart.
The “full” license we purchased cost around $80, but immediately upon installing the plugin we were shocked at how limiting it was. Everything from creating product options to setting up shipping was confusing and horribly laid out. The interface looks old and disorganized. You can’t even highlight or copy anything from the interface due to how it’s coded. From a user experience standpoint this plugin fails miserably.
The developers at WP Easycart put out a release very often (almost too often), and nearly every single release broke our site in one way or another. I was constantly submitting support tickets or posting in their forums after every single update because something critical broke, whether it was the cart styling, or how payments were processed. It appears to me as though the makers of WP Easycart are more focused on putting out new features rather than take the time to write clean, functional code.
In short, we ended up leaving this past week due to the fact that after updating the plugin our cart starting charging people for products without sending a copy of the order to our admin panel, leading many new customers to think our company was scamming them out of money. Simply impossible to do business with.
If you decide to stay with WordPress for your E-Commerce solution, I would recommend using something like WooCommerce instead. At least it’s free. Don’t waste your money, time or sanity for this plugin.
