Support » Plugin: WordPress Social Login (Google, Twitter, Vkontakte) » Poor performance; Poor support

  • I dont know what happened but the plugin support does not respond for months to issues posted on this forum. And I am a premium subscriber and sent a ticket but they did not respond either. The plugin keeps registering users with email address @social-user.com rather than the user’s email address on Facebook, Google etc. This is a serious problem because now I have over 1000 users with invalid “@social-user” email addresses!!!!

    Hi akingbenga,

We have a support form in the plugin so that our users can reach us as quickly as possible. Since, we don’t get a notification for queries posted in the support forum we made this provision. Apart from that, most of the support threads you see unanswered have been acted upon or in some cases, the users have reached us through the support form.

We responded to your ticket, the Yahoo one, but haven’t received a reply from you.

About the @social-user case (if you would have contacted support, you would have gotten your answer), there are three things required to get the user’s email address:

    1. Configuring the plugin: this involves only selecting the applications. We try to enforce getting email for all applications
    2. User permission: User logging in should make their email address public. If user does not permit to share it, we can’t have it.
    3. Application support for email: Applications should support sharing email address. Instagram does not have the provision to share email addresses.

If email address was an important aspect of you using Social Login, you should have contacted the support for their suggestion, they would have definitely suggested you to not use Instagram.

    Thanks,
    miniOrange Team
