Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » poor basic functionality, missing features

  • Plugin description is promising – Cool features, lots of installations.

    However disappointing after install.

    * UI does not integrate into WordPress Theme (Customizer),
Calendar looks as if made for something else. The only usable view is List.
    * Horrible to maintain. Can not even copy entered events or import .ics.
Maybe this circumstance should be a buying suggestion, but I’m afraid it is not.
    * Confusion between date an event is scheduled and published.

    Hi @erlug,

I’m sorry to hear The Events Calendar didn’t meet your needs. I’m really curious about some of the points you raised — and would love more feedback if you’re happy to provide it 🙂

UI does not integrate into WordPress Theme (Customizer), Calendar looks as if made for something else. The only usable view is List.

We’ve put a lot of time into making the calendar clean and integrate well with as many themes as possible — so I’m disappointed to hear this. Are you able to share any URLs or screenshots illustrating the problems?

Is it possible the particular difficulties related to your specific theme? Remember too you are welcome to post for help and that way other members of the community or the support team might be able to help smooth things out.

Can not even copy entered events or import .ics.

The Events Calendar itself doesn’t have facilities to duplicate events (if that’s what you mean) or to import ICS data, however our premium plugin Events Calendar PRO adds recurring event functionality and Event Aggregator will let you import from .ics files/iCal feeds.

It’s also worth noting that importing from CSV is supported out of the box and that there are free plugins like this one could help with event duplication: that to say, importing events and duplicating them can all be done at no extra cost.

Confusion between date an event is scheduled and published

This isn’t something we generally hear, so it definitely piqued my interest. What could we do to make this clearer?

    Thanks again for your feedback!
