    Hi,good day !

I’m using your free plugin Polylang on my website, hooki.pro . Great plugin ! It really works how I hoped. The only thing i’m facing an issue with is a conflict with woocommerce, but on a uncommon problem.

Basically, I have a multi-language website using Polylang + Woocommerce . Everything works fine according to my needs : I need the shop to be in english only, while keeping a “translated environment” (category name, menu, and so on).

Everything works fine, except for this small issue : I finished my shop, installed the language and added tranlation for categories. For products added AFTER I installed the languages, no problem : I can easily select the category for all 3 languages I have, and it’ll show up.

However , for products that were added BEFORE I installed the language, the translated categories simply don’t show up at all !

    Some practical example :

The only products that show up in this category is the one that I added after I installed languages : http://www.hooki.pro/product-category/%D1%81%D0%BF%D0%B5%D1%86%D0%B8%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B5-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B4%D1%83%D0%BA%D1%82%D1%8B/

Installing & Deinstalling woocommerce doesn’t change anything. So .. the only way I see right now would be to duplicate the products and remove the old ones (didn’t try it yet but anyways it seems quite time consuming)

I added some screenshots for references : http://postimg.org/image/qxetxvrif/

Any help would relly be helpful, a way to make it so i’d be able to select language specific categories for all products, not only new ones.

This is pretty much what I posted on woocommerce’s support forum about 5 days ago but unfortunately didn’t get any reply. I even hired a freelancer who canceled the order and told me to contact you directly instead (althought i think the issue may come from woocommerce).

    Thanks in advance !

    Hi!

I am not familiar with Woocommerce I may not be of great help.

Just in case, did you make sure that all your old content got a language? There is an option in Polylang settings to allow you to assign the default language to all existing content.

Hi, thanks for your input ! Although this may have been a valid solution, I double checked but it wasn’t the case.

But when toying around with the options I thought about some way to fix it (still not sure why I didn’t think about it before). So for those who may have the same issue and working in a similar environment as me (shop needs to be in english, but categories, menus .. needs to be translate) :

    – Make sure the option checkbox for “product category” is checked
    – Add your translation(s) for your categories (using the “+” sign under language tab)
    – Once your categories have been translated, uncheck the “product category” checkbox
    – Edit your products and select both your main language’s and add. languages categories, save .
    – Once you’re done, turn (check) the “product category” translation back again and you should be good !

    Hope my explanations makes sense.
