Polylang settings – two langs, lang is set from content, removed lang in pretty permalinks

The thing is I want to get the flags out of the widget area. I tried to do it manually, but it looks kind of weird. The widget is currently set as header widget 1, but the theme I am using (x – the ultimate wordpress theme) is built that way that you should click a button in order the widget to show up. Not all the people got that common sense and I think my clients would be lost searching for the flags in my website. I cannot post a link to my site here as it may be vulnerable. I think that many people have the same issue, but I couldn’t find anything on the forum.

You can place the language switcher wherever you want in your theme using the template tag pll_the_languages.

I had a look at the documentation and at the examples, but I didn’t manage to do it myself. Could you please give me the code that I should put here, so that it is properly aligned and works.

I tried with:
```
<?php // outputs a flags list (without languages names) ?>
<ul><?php pll_the_languages(array('show_flags'=>1,'show_names'=>1)); ?></ul>
```
but it only appears as text as if the code was put in
<pre> tag.
