Custom posts and archives show date in wrong language

    When I use custom posts, the content shows in English like it should, but the date shows in Chinese. See this post for an example. The post is set to English, the browser is in English, but the date is showing in Chinese. The same issue appears on archive pages (e.g. tags, categories) where the content can be in English but the date is in Chinese — e.g. this tag archive.

    I check the language strings and it correctly shows F j, Y for English.

    Normal posts (e.g. ellipticlabs.com/news) show the dates correctly based on the language of the post.

    What is going on and how can I fix this?
