Hello, I’ve already installed the free forminator version, I’ve used a form and is really good. But right now I’ve just tried to poll using forminator and fails, the point is that when any user votes, is not possible for another user to vote. Just can vote only one user. I don’t know the cause, maybe I didn’t configure it well, (I’ve tried changing some options but the problem persisted) or maybe it’s due to a compatibility issue, or…I don’t know.

    Thsnk you in advance. Regards.

    Hi @diegomiguel05,

Could you please give me a bit more info about your issue, what exactly are you referring to with only one user can vote?
If you’re trying from the same PC then that’s because polls are limited for one vote per IP to avoid abuse.
It’s something we’re looking to improve in future and add some other way of verification.

If you’re having issues with voting from different PC that don’t share same IP address could you share a page with your poll so we can check it out?

    Cheers,
    Predrag

Hello @wpmudev-support1 . Thanks for answering.

Not the same IP, are two differents pc (oviously, each one with differents users loged in, and only one of them have voted). I’ve just realizad that if both devices are connected to the same network is not possible to vote with both devices.
I was using 2 differents pcs connected to the same network, and it was possible to vote just with one pc. Now I’ve accesed with mi mobile phone to the web (using an user that have not voted yet) connected by wifi to the same network than before, and it wasn’t possible to vote yet. But if I switch wifi off, and connect using my mobile phone data is possible to vote.
So that, the problem is that is possible to vote once in each network, don’t know if exist any option in your plugin settings that solve this problem. Could you tell me if is it possible?

    Thanks, regards.

    Hello @diegomiguel05,

hope you’re doing well and don’t mind me chip in here.

This is the same IP limitation that Predrag mentioned above as the out-going IP is the one that your router is using.
As said before, this is forwarded to our developers for further investigation. If there’s any development on this, we’ll keep you posted here. 🙂

    Warm regards,

    Hello @wpmudev-support1 and @wpmudev-support6

I’m experiencing the same problem with polls only taking one submission, regardless of where people are connected.

Having people from all over the world mailing me that they can’t submit the poll because they see the “You have already voted for this poll” message. Even though the submission overview in the admin only shows one vote.

So with this, it can’t be the “same IP limitation” as mentioned above.
Since I’m not having people from the UK and Germany connected to my local network before submitting.

After further digging, it turns out that the submission stores my Hosting provider’s IP address, rather than the end user. So something is clearly going wrong with the get_user_ip function.

Even more digging, reveals that I’m never getting a Cloudflare IP in my $_SERVER variables. And that the fallback to REMOTE_ADDR is my hosting provider.

So even though Cloudflare has added their headers to the $_SERVER variables, I’m not passing the Cloudflare IP validdation (which seems like overkill to me).

I’ve patched this for myself by disabling the IP validation in your plugin, but would like to see a more solid solution from your end 🙂

I’m really sorry for the long waiting time on this and for the additional information shared already.

I’ve already pinged Forminator’s lead developer on this, we’ll keep you posted here as soon as we’ve got some development on this.

    Thank you,

    Hello there @engineerairhead,

hope you’re doing well today! 🙂

I made some tests and I wasn’t able to replicate this, could you please try to edit your poll and under the Behaviour tab enable the Load poll using AJAX option?
