• After setting up anaccount with Pokform.com, which is Jimdo-like Flash online CMS, I emailed them to find out if they were compatible and I was told the following:

“The Pokform server can support word-press and PHP, My SQL etc. Currently we are developing a new version and soon we will be offering Pokform which will include full server access and FTP login and this also includes a third party word-press installer. This will mean you will be able to access and set up your account for yourself, however we cannot give a guaranteed date when this version will be released. We will be testing the new system in the coming months and will be working to get all users upgraded as soon as possible. “

What exactly does this mean? And if it is compatible, what is the next installation step?
Which setup method is best: phpMyAdmin or MySQL Client?

  • The Pokform server can support word-press and PHP, My SQL etc.

They say they support PHP and MySQL, so sounds like they might be able to run WordPress.

phpMyAdmin is a good package to manage your databases.

Next step is to review Installing WordPress. Your host’s letter was a bit confusing about FTP and so if they don’t offer FTP now, not sure how you are going to get files uploaded.

    Recommendation: get a better host.
