Pofile Page conflict with authors page Permalink and Author slugs on Home page

    Hi
    I like this plugin but this is conflicting with my authors slug . Even if i disable the profile page ( means choose no pae for profile) the author slug works but i have another problem On home page and every where else the post author link gets changed to post url and at end gets added author name.

    This is weird

    Will have to find a fix

    Hello,

    WPUM does not modify the author page itself. The only changes that WPUM does to authors, is changing the functionality the prints out the author’s page url within a page. It changes it’s url and links it to the WPUM’s profile page.

    So for example if you’re in a post, and your theme is displaying the post’s author with the author’s url, WPUM will change that url and send it to the WPUM’s profile.

    If you’re experiencing issues with the author’s page itself, it’s high likely that the issue isn’t caused by WPUM since I’ve also retested it on my end and there seems to be no issues.

    There are a few things you can do:

    Check that the WPUM’s profile page does not have the same page slug that WordPress reserves for author pages, which by default is “author”.

    If the issue persists, disable each plugin installed on your site one by one to see if any of them is causing the issue.

    I could also provide you a code snippet that should disable WPUM’s built-in functionality to alter the author’s url that won’t make any difference if you still have problems with the authors page itself.
