You could try the IRC channel.
I have never used IRC 🙁 but I guess there is a first for everything

Podz is very outspoken about his stance on never using IM, but being on the IRC rather frequently. As for Moose, I’m not sure, but he doesn’t strike me as the IM type either. BTW, if you’re going to ask them when WP v1.5 is coming out, thinking that they will tell you in private, don’t. They know just as much as you do. Sorry for the assumption if it’s wrong, but that seems to be the trend lately.

I don’t use IM very much at all, no. Every time I logged in I would have dozens of new ‘buddies’ to add all wanting WP help, and I wanted to do was chatter with some mates.
I am in irc pretty much every night, on irc.freenode.net in #wordpress and #wordpress-help and my email address is tamba2 at gmail dot com – feel free to mail me there 🙂
If you use Firefox, there is a Chatzilla extension for irc.
