You can build a form to input the data from the front-end with pods::form(), with the Pods shortcode in a post, or with the Pods form widget.

Many thanks, That sorts it out for me.

Please clarify. Do I put the example code in the classes file ? Does anything need to be edited?

    Stacy-

The example code on the docs page is too generic to be used as is and is actually many different examples in one. You need to specify the name of your pod and the name of the fields you want to use. If you are uncomfortable working with the PHP in the example I recommend using the shortcode or widgets. Scott is also working on a plugin that will allow you to use Gravity Forms to create Pods Forms, which will be a much better option.

    Take care,
    Josh

Gravity Forms itself also has a User Registration add-on which integrates with Pods for saving the user meta fields, that should work out of the box.
