    Hi,

Is this plugin compatible with Pods (https://wordpress.org/plugins/pods/)? Is it possible to import data fields from a CSV file to populate and create Pod posts?

I’m looking for a method/plugin to bulk create multiple Pod posts via file import/upload. Is this something this plugin can do?

    Thanks!

Thanks, I’ve been experimenting and reading the documentation. I followed this video of yours (http://plugins.vjinfotech.com/wordpress-import-export/documentation/importing-custom-fields/). I used the machine “name” field for Name field in the import widget and that seems to have handled mapping well enough.

Is there a way to create an import template, so that I don’t have to manually remap the fields for the Pod post type every time?

Some feedback regarding importing to create Pods: Importing doesn’t seem to support Pod’s relationship field type (but this is understandable), also how do you format the CSV field values for radio button fields? And date fields (mm/dd/yyyy format)?

Also, I did get a “server 500” error on the final step of importation, but it did appear that the Pod post was created with most of the mapped fields imported correctly (minus relationship, radio, date fields). What is the error cause?

It also appears creating titles for Pods does not work, I am trying to use one of the imported values as the title, but it results in “(no title)” after import, the other imported fields do seem to be working within the Pod post though.

    How can I fix this?

Also, is there a way to set a default import template?

    Hi,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

You can save and load import settings in top section of step 4

We will test pods plugin and try to create dedicated addon for it.

While I do think having more support for Pods is needed and much appreciated, I think there are some immediate simpler issues that can probably be addressed first. Could you please verify that using the imported values as a post title is possible with Pods? I attempted to create a post title using two imported values “value1 X value2” via the drag-drop UI, but after import, it created the Pods but they were all “no title” post titles.

Aside from the specialized Pod fields import support (relationship etc.), and this “no title” issue, the plugin does appear to be able to import and create Pods.

I also figured out that Pod radio fields can be imported, the imported values must match the radio labels.

Regarding templates, I was able to save the template, thanks. it’d be great to be able to view and modify the templates from the Settings section. I’m not entirely sure how templates work other than selecting or saving the template name during an actual import. I don’t see a way to modify a template after the fact or outside of the import process. Also, being able to set a default template would be a great feature, not just for Pods support, but in general for the plugin.

Is there an option to set a default “import each record as” in step 2?

Also, is there an option to prepopulate the custom fields section in step 4 based on the post type selected in step 2? Rather than having to manually specify the machine name for each custom field? In my case, the custom fields come from a custom Pod post type.

And as an update to my earlier posts/questions, after further experimentation I was able to set the post title to a combination of two imported fields during import.

    Thanks!
