Pods custom taxonomy

Thanks for your question. I don’t have any personal experience with Pods – Custom Content Types and Fields, but I can give you some general guidance.

MLA supports any WordPress custom taxonomy registered with the show_ui parameter set to true. I believe Pods taxonomies meet these criteria.

To add MLA support for a taxonomy:

1. Navigate to the Settings/Media Library Assistant General tab.
2. Scroll down to the Taxonomy Support section.
3. Check the Support box for the taxonomies you want to add. The taxonomy name is in the right-hand column.
4. Check any of the other options you want. A brief description of each option lies below the checkbox array.
5. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save Changes to record your new settings.

Once you add support for a taxonomy you can assign terms to your items on the Media/Edit Media screen or, if you checked the Inline Edit option, in the MLA Quick Edit and Bulk Edit areas.

You will also see taxonomy edit submenus under the Media admin menu. Hover over or click on the submenu link; you will see the taxonomy slug value in the URL for the submenu screen.

You can access the items assigned to a term by adding a simple taxonomy parameter or a taxonomy query to your [mla_gallery] shortcode. In you example, attachment_category is the taxonomy slug and my-category is the term. If you change attachment_category to the slug for your custom taxonomy you will access the items assigned to the my-category term in that taxonomy.
