  • According to my host, my installed version of Podpress is causing some kind of problems where too many calls are being made to my server. Hi Jeff,

I’m not sure what part of podPress could cause this. Do they say something about which type server has trouble? The data base server maybe?

If you have activated the statistic feature of podPress then every click on a media file link is a db request and if you have a lot of visitors then this can eventually become a problem.

Maybe deactivate the statistics and try it again.

Besides that I have no idea what the problem could be. But if you or your hosting provider could give me more details of the nature of the problem, I will do my best to help.

Thanks, Tim. I have invited my host to comment on this page. I don’t know if I have the stats package activated. I believe the answer is no but cannot verify as my host (Nexcess) keeps taking my site down saying that it’s causing problems for everyone on the shared server. This time they did it and didn’t bother telling me they were taking it off line.
