Our podcast page is currently not showing up and giving us a HTTP ERROR 500.

Thus, all of our podcast posts/links are also not loading or working.

It also appears that our last two episodes are not playing from iTunes, as well as the other listening platforms that use our RSS feed, but it’s strange that in those platforms our other episodes work fine.

We’ve received emails from our listeners over the weekend about this. I’m not sure when this started, as I was on Thanksgiving vacation. I do know that on Wednesday, when our newest episode was released, everything was working fine.

    I hope you can help!

UPDATE: It looks like there are only four episodes that are not playing in iTunes and our other platforms, and yet others can be played.

Yet, all episode posts on our website are not showing up or loading.

    Hi there

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Please confirm what version of Seriously Simple Podcasting is installed on your website?

Also, please login to your site via FTP and check if there’s a debug.log file found in your /wp-content folder. Please post any of the errors that may be related to ssp_ so that we can investigate further?

Thank you for getting back to me!

We are using SSP Version 1.18.1.

Where in the wp-content folder would I find the debug.log file?

Is there a way to go back to the SSP version before 1.18.1? From what I see in the plugin description, the new version doesn’t work with the newest update of WordPress, 4.9. That could explain the issue…

    Hi there

I’ve tested the plugin on WordPress 4.9 and can confirm that the plugin works as expected on the latest version.

You can make use of an older version of the plugin by visiting https://wordpress.org/plugins/seriously-simple-podcasting/advanced/, scrolling down below the graph and selecting a version number and clicking ‘Download’.

Please ensure debug logging has been enabled by navigating to your wp-config.php file and ensuring that WP_DEBUG has been set to true as well as WP_DEBUG_LOG

The debug.log file should then appear in your wp-content folder after refreshing the /podcast page.

    I hope this helps?

I just want to make sure I understand. Are you saying that the plugin does or doesn’t work with WP 4.9?

I changed WP_DEBUG to true. Where can I find the WP_DEBUG_LOG file?

    Hi there

The plugin is compatible with WordPress 4.9.

The WP_DEBUG_LOG can be found under your /wp-content folder when logging in via FTP. This file will be called ‘debug.log’.

    I hope this helps?
