[28-Nov-2019 16:08:47 UTC] PHP Warning: Use of undefined constant EWWW_IMAGE_OPTIMIZER_PNGOUT – assumed ‘EWWW_IMAGE_OPTIMIZER_PNGOUT’ (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /Users/nicb/Data/_htdocs/yourcolor/wp-content/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/common.php on line 7212

tested on local and remote server

in settings tab “convert” you need to check PNG to JPG checkbox. seems so. now it works. why you show the buttons if it was not set? seems unusual to me…

but this causes all uploaded pngs to convert to jpg by default which is not desired. so uncheck that box again and then it will work like desired. but causes notices in debug file:

[28-Nov-2019 16:30:49 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: image_record in /Users/nicb/Data/_htdocs/yourcolor/wp-content/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/classes/class-ewww-image.php on line 881

    Hi @nicmare,
The PNG to JPG links should work without enabling the PNG to JPG option globally. That IS indeed their purpose, as you rightly guessed.
I’ll do some testing locally to make sure we don’t have a regression there, but if you could send your debug information (from the Support tab) via https://ewww.io/contact-us/ that would be helpful to figure out why you’re seeing such notices in the logs.

I’ve confirmed PNG to JPG links are working as designed, but the fact that you have PNGOUT errors is very strange. Makes me wonder if you have some plugin that disables other plugins in some way.

If you still need help, you’ll want to use https://ewww.io/contact-us/ so we can look into it further.
