After creating a custom post type and adding custom fields including file upload, the uploads using plupload does not work on safari browser. Is there a work around for this that does not include allowing users to upload into the media gallery.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @daddiod

What errors are you getting with Safari?
    Please share 🙂

The add file button does not show at all. Instead the message ” You do not have permission to upload / browse files ” shows in its place

Could this be some sort of safari security setting.

This still does not work. Updated plugin, changed permissions on folders. Still no resolution on error

You do not have permission to upload / browse files

This sounds like a permission issue indeed. Do you get this with an administrator account?

Yes. It works correctly when logged in as an admin. I thought it was the session setting but disabling that then enabling it again makes no difference.

It’s on a public form submission and set to use a folder inside wordpress upload folder.

Is there a fix for this. I am asking visitors to upload a photo for a Contestant profile sheet. These are not wordpress profiles and I don’t want them to be. If the upload file upload feature does not work this way do you have a suggestion as what to use for this.

It does the same thing in all browsers and will not allow uploads without a user being logged in.

Could this be caused by the custom post type only having support for ‘title’ in its setup. Does the post type need something else to allow uploads to work.

    Hi @daddiod

    That’s definitely a permissions issue.
Normally only users with the “upload_files” capability can upload anything. Site visitors do not have any capabilities so that is why this isn’t working.

See this topic for the solution:
