[Plugin:WP-e-Commerce] Upgrade to WP 2.8.6 and “Products” disappears.

  • Hi all,

    I have updated to WordPress 2.8.6 (running Fusion theme). upgrade went fine, no major errors noted, however my WP-e-commerce plugin no longer appears to be accessible. I cannot see the “Products” listings on my Admin Dashboard and my Products are not showing up on my page (http://www.birminghamphoenixclub.com/events/club-events).

    Within Plugins it doesn’t show up in the active, installed, or inactive listings.

    However, the “WP E-Commerce Dashboard” plugin shows my revenue, sales and order requests.

    And, if I attempt to reinstall the plugin it says, “Destination folder already exists. /…../html/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/
    Plugin Install Failed.”.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • There are really severe issues with 2.8.6 . Primarily it can mess up categories as you would see if you go to the database (description of categories get erased).

    I first used the fix suggested at http://www.jauhari.net/how-to-fix-wordpress-26-missing-categories.jsp

    But because of all the trouble I just reverted back to 2.8.5 (which was a long process of basically reinstalling everything but I would suggest you do the same.)

    oh wow. thanks for the update. my wp-e-commerce folder actually deleted itself! however, luckily the database changes did not get dumped.
