 * It apprears that the function documentation look up in wp-admin Plugins/Themes
   editor for some functions refers to WordPress PHPXRef (phpdoc.wordpress.org).
   However, the generated redirection link just ends up short at the documentation
   root level and does not open the target document. Clicking on the “WordPress
   trunk” link gives the 403: Forbidden error.
 * The link seems to be generated as a result of API and it returns a different
   error when there’s no documentation for specified function.
 * Can any one suggest what I need to do to use look up and/or access PHPXRef?

 * I am encountering the same issue.
 * Seems that the workaround, maybe to visit the site lookup manually.
 * New version:
    [developer.wordpress.org/reference/](http://developer.wordpress.org/reference/)
   or **developer.wordpress.org**
 * Previous version of references:
    [codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference](http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference)

 * Thanks for the reply.
 * Since it’s not only me, I guess there’s some problems with what API returns rather
   than configuration problem.
 * I guess it is not a “bug” many prople are concerned very much since there are
   many alternatives to get the information. Still, it’s a pitty that a function
   provided within WordPress is not working as it should be.

 * The same problem exists with version 3.9.2 as well.

 * Noticed that it’s been fixed sometime between 3.9.2 and 4.2.2.
